About Gnome

Historically, Indians have been recognized worldwide for their pioneering and spectacular contributions in all facets of life science. In the post-Mendelian era, Indian scientists have made substantial contributions to all areas of genome science. We love and trust to ascribe the term ā€˜genome’ in a broad (or true) sense to all efforts to depict, utilize or protect the genomes of all organisms on the earth, not just sequencing of gene, gene products and chromosomes. Working at home and abroad, Indian scientists are actively participating in the global efforts towards the evolution and the progress of this multifaceted subject. However, it is high time for all Indians of the present and future generation devoted to genome science to come over a single platform, know each other personally and professionally, and help each other grow tall among the world community. And with this vision, Genome India International (GII) was established on January 1, 2005. see more
